Tailored Image took the challenge to create a uniform which would deliver the true sense of occasion created at Belfast’s new luxury Titanic Hotel.
Set to become a world-famous destination, the £28 million investment by owners Harcourt Developments has created a unique 119 room hotel in the former Harland & Wolff Head Office building. The venue includes the historic drawing offices where the Titanic and other White Star liners were designed in the early 1900s, along with other unique links to the events which continue to generate interest around the world.
The hotel management recognised the important role uniforms would play in the delivery of their unique brand, so they engaged Tailored image with a design brief well in advance of its opening. They were obviously keen to create something which would add to their guests’ experience, in keeping with the theme and the physical surroundings.
Nautical luxury lay at the heart of the Titanic story and while the uniform design is not intended to be a replica of those used onboard, it does aim to reflect the local style and materials which prevailed at the time.
Bespoke garments were created for a range of staff roles from the concierge to reception staff, food and beverage teams and of course housekeeping. With an emphasis on natural materials, the use of tweeds, leather and crisp white fabrics create a very authentic Belfast welcome for the visitors.
The project was a great opportunity for Tailored Image to demonstrate its bespoke design and manufacturing capabilities, which are ideally suited to meeting the needs of premium hospitality venues.
